I worked at The Record of Hackensack from April 1993 to November 2002. I started in the Passaic Bureau, covering Totowa, Little Falls and West Paterson. I was quickly promoted to Clifton, which is the second largest municipality in the Record's ciculation area. I covered Clifton until June 1996, when I was promoted to the State House bureau in Trenton, where I was assigned to the environmental beat. I also began covering statewide issues and politics. In June 2000, I was promoted to State House bureau chief, responsible for overseeing coverage of the governor's office, the legislature, the executive agencies, the state Supreme Court and statewide politics. I supervised a staff of six reporters. My clips go back only as far as June 1994 because that's when The Record starting making them available on Nexis.
